1. Acceptance

CHOIL ("the Service") is operated by Airglow LLC, a Kansas limited liability company ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, and we may ask you to re-confirm.

2. The Service is provided “AS IS”

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, with all faults and without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data will be accurate, preserved, or backed up.

3. Not financial, appraisal, or professional advice

CHOIL is an organizational tool for hobbyists. Valuations, estimates, AI identifications, condition notes, maintenance schedules, and any other output are automated, approximate, and for informational and entertainment purposes only — we do not guarantee any value, price, or result. They are not appraisals, financial, investment, insurance, legal, or safety advice, and must not be relied upon for buying, selling, insuring, transporting, or maintaining any item. Always verify independently. AI features can be wrong.

4. Your responsibilities & lawful use

You are solely responsible for the data you enter, the items you own, and your conduct. You represent that your ownership, possession, carry, transport, sale, and use of any item logged in CHOIL complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction. Knives and other items may be regulated or illegal in some places — it is entirely your responsibility to know and follow the law. CHOIL does not endorse or facilitate any unlawful activity.

5. Community standards & objectionable content

CHOIL has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You may not post, send, or share content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit or exploitative, that depicts or facilitates illegal activity, or that is spam or a scam — anywhere user content appears (Trading Post listings, direct messages, profiles, and Face-Offs). You can report any content or member from within the app, and you can block any member to stop them from contacting you. We review reports and will remove offending content and suspend or remove violators, typically within 24 hours. Filing reports you know to be false is itself a violation. By using the Service you agree to these standards and that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to operate the Service (including sending relevant details to AI providers for features you invoke). You are responsible for keeping your own copies; we are not a backup service. Photos you upload are private to your collection by default.Only if you explicitly opt in (per photo, via the checkbox shown when you upload a cover image) do you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that photo as a shared product / catalog image elsewhere on the Service. You may revoke this for future use at any time by removing the photo or unchecking the option. You confirm you took the photo or otherwise hold the rights to license it. Do not upload images you don't have rights to.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Airglow LLC, CHOIL, and their members, managers, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, items, value, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, inaccurate valuations or identifications, data loss, downtime, security incidents, or third-party services — whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Airglow LLC and CHOIL from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (hosting, database, AI, email, SMS, image sources). We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, content, or actions, and their own terms may apply.

10. Billing & AI credits

Paid plans and AI-credit purchases are billed through our payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancel anytime from the billing portal. AI credits are non-refundable once used, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Prices and credit costs may change with notice. Donations are voluntary gifts that support the Service; they are non-refundable and confer no goods, services, credits, features, or plan changes — only an honorary cosmetic badge.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the Service and delete your account — and all of your data — at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, from choil.app/account/delete, or via the support page.

12. Governing law & severability

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Kansas. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
